Dartmoor's Ancient Woodland Wild Camp 2017/12/04

A two day hike and camp on some of Dartmoor's ancient woodland.

Introduction

This very special place always leaves a deep impression within the visitor. Staying a night or two on top the moors is the perfect way to experience the landscape in its many forms. I lay in my tent in a hidden valley with the sound of a small bubbling stream beside and light rain hitting the fly, as I drifted slowly off. This trip would focus on visiting some of Dartmoor's Ancient Woodland.

My tent is the Hilleberg Akto. It's by no means the lightest tent on the market but it's dependable and solid. A breeze to set up and spacious inside.
