Christmas Bushcraft in the Woods 2017/12/30

Heading off to find solitude in nature is to gain truth and stillness. This Christmas I managed to escape the norm and instead spend it in reflection sheltered within one of the most wonderful woodlands in the UK. Christmas Bushcraft will become a yearly tradition I think.

Introduction

I did encounter a few strange looks when people asked where I was off to with a rucksack this time of year. But Christmas Bushcraft is worth it. I had the whole woodland to myself it felt and nothing but the animals around me.

A long standing dream of mine to spend the festive period in nature finally came true this year, in 2017.

I encountered freezing temperatures, torrential rain and heavy snow which all made for some interesting weather conditions out in the forest.
